Anew Chinese attack helicopter has been revealed in a series of internet leaks that appear almost as well orchestrated as the recent revelation of the Chengdu J-20 fifth-generation fighter aircraft. Dubbed the Z-19 or WZ-19 by Chinese internet commentators, it is apparently a product of the Harbin Aviation Industry Group (HAIG), which was subsumed into AVIC Helicopter (Avicopfer) in 2008. The clearest images of the new helicopter in flight appeared on Chinese web pages in time for the 30 January Chinese New Year. These followed pictures in late December 2010 of a full-scale model of this helicopter, probably outside HIAG headquarters in Harbin.
