Final acceptance by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) of alt six of its Wedgetait airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft is now expected in the first quarter of 2012, a Boeing executive said on 3 March. Speaking at Avalon 2011, Rick Heerdt, Boeing's vice-president for AEW Programme Surveillance and Engagement, said flight-testing of the electronic warfare self protection (EWSP) and electronic support measures (ESM) systems should be completed in the second quarter of this year.
