Ukraine's Ukrspecexport delivered the first five An-32RE (RE for re-equipped) upgraded tactical transport aircraft to the Indian Air Force (IAF) on 27 May, with a further 10 An-32REs scheduled to return to IAF service by December. The delivery fulfils part of a contract worth a reported USD397.7 million signed in July 2009 to extend service life, enhance operational capabilities, ease crew workloads and reduce the maintenance costs of the IAF's 105An-32s.
