The Palish Ministry of National Defence (MND) has released its requirements to industry for remote turrets for its Rosomak 8x8 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs). The turrets (Zdalnie Sterowany System Wiezowy- ZSSW) will be acquired between 2013 and 2015 and will equip two Rosomak battalions. They have also been earmarked for reconnaissance variants of the Rosomak. The WIND is likely to order at least 122 ZSSWs, a source told Jane's. At least fourturrets are expected to be offered: Elbit Systems and Huta Stalowa Wola are likely to promote the UT-30, Rafael ADS will offer the RCWS-30 Samson, Oto Melara and ZM Bumar-Labedy will offer the Hitfist 0WS and Wojskowe Zaklady Motoryzacyjne could team with Rheinmetall to offer the remote variant of the Lance Modular Turret System.
