The K-MAX cargo unmanned aerial system (UAS) has finished a five-day quick-reaction assessment (QRA) as the US Navy's Cargo UAS programme moves forward. An official report on the QRA is to be released by military testers within 30 days of the assessment's completion, K-MAX team members Lockheed Martin and Kaman explained in a 6 September announcement. Results from the QRA will then be studied by navy and US Marine Corps (USMC) leadership to decide if the UASs are ready or feasible for a six-month deployment with marines to conduct logistics missions in Afghanistan.
