The last of 22 upgraded AgustaWestland Lynx AH.9A battlefield support helicopters was handed over to the British Army Air Corps (AAC) during a ceremony at the company's Yeovil facility, southern England, on 15 December. This helicopter had been upgraded to the recent Lynx AH ,9A Light Assault Helicopter (LAH) standard, which comprised the fitting of the Night Enhancement Package (NEP) and specialist role equipment. Originally contracted for an initial eight LAH upgrades, Agus taWestland was awarded a further contract in June to extend the upgrade to the entire fleet of 22 Lynx AH.9As. Upgrade work is expected to be completed by late 2012 and once the aircraft have been through this process they will be designated Lynx AH.9A LAHs.
