TKMS turns focus on naval vessels ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) has announced it is to focus on military surface vessel and submarine construction after selling off its civil shipbuilding operation to UK private equity fund Star Capital Partners. A purchase and sale agreement was signed on 11 December concerning the TKMS-owned Blohm + Voss Shipyards, Blohm + Voss Repair (which provides repair, refit and maintenance services) and Blohm + Voss Industries (a supplier of products ranging from bilge water separators to stabilisers and steering gear systems) and their subsidiaries. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
