The chief executive officer (CEO) of South African delence acquisition agency Armscor has been formally dismissed following a debacle over the country's acquisition of the A400M military transport aircraft. The dismissal with effect from 7 January follows a disciplinary hearing in mid-December 2009 that concluded with a recommendation by the chairman that Sipho Thomo's contract be terminated. Armscor's general manager for acquisitions, Sipho Mkwanazi, will serve as acting CEO, the board announced.
