The US Air Force (USAF) released a final requests for proposal (RfP) for the KC-X tanker acquisition programme on 24 February, although it remains unclear whether the Pentagon will be able to convince more than one contractor to bid.rnSenior US defence officials say they want the competition to pit Boeing against a team consisting of Northrop Grumman and EADS, but the latter has yet to commit to participating, saying it has concerns about the fairness of the competition.rnThe US Air Force ( USAF) later released additional details about its acquisition plans on 25 February, announcing that delivery of the first test aircraft is expected to occur in Fiscal Year 2012 (FY 12) followed by the delivery of the first production aircraft in FY 15.
