The cabin floor of the Australian Army's new NH90 (MRH90 in Australian service) multirole helicopters is prone to deformation and has to be replaced, a parliamentary defence subcommittee was told on 30 March.rnMajor General Tony Fraser, head of the Helicopter Systems Division in the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO), said the problem first emerged in 2008, when Germany and other potential users of the NH90 were informed.rn"The aircraft was reduced in weight in orderto increase performance and, in its early design stages, the floor was designed too thinly. While it is strong enough to work, it deforms," said Gen Fraser.
