NATO is working on a plan with Russia to step up Moscow's support for the icounter-trafficking campaign in Afghanistan in order to tighten pressure on the drug revenues that help finance the Taliban insurgency, NATO officials have said.rnThe plan calls for extending the training of Afghan counter-narcotics officials and the possible provision of Russian equipment. The two sides are reviewing the possibilities within the NATO-Russia Council on ways to step up support to Kabul and to the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.
