US avionics and missiles specialist Raytheon has ruled out collaborating with EADS on a bid for the re-started US KC-X aerial refuelling tanker contest, the company told Jane's on 9 April.rnLockheed Martin, another potential partner for the pan-European aviation giant, would not categorically deny interest in a co-operative proposal when contacted by Jane's, but said: "We have not been and are not working on a tanker proposal." Rockwell Collins, meanwhile, was unwilling to commit itself either way, but indicated possible interest by highlighting previous work with Northrop Grumman in the US prime's joint bid with EADS on the initial KC-X contest. Rockwell worked with both Boeing and Northrop Grumman when they took part in the original KC-X competition and is also collaborating with Boeing in the re-run.
