Amid renewed tension between Israel and Turkey about the former's policy in relation to Gaza, Israeli Military Industries (IMI) delivered the last of 170 upgraded General Dynamics M60A1 main battle tanks (MBTs) back to the Turkish armed forces on 7 April.rnDuring a ceremony at the second Main Maintenance Centre Command in Kayseri, Turkish Defence Minister Vecdi Goniil said the modernised tanks have passed summer and winter tests. A problem with the reverse gear found on 30 of the tanks had also been fixed.rnTurkey signed an agreementrnwith IMI in April 2002 as the sole source for the upgrade of the US-made M60Als and the programme was initiated that October. The contract is valued at about USD687.5 million.
