State-owned Spanish shipbuilder Navantia is to cut costs by 30 per cent during the next five years as part of a government 'austerity plan' for all companies operating under national investment group SEPI (Sociedad Estatal de Participa-ciones Industrials).rnNavantia may be forced to cut senior staff positions as a result of the widespread measures.rnOn 30 April SEPI announced that the Council of Minsters had approved a plan to re-organise the state-owned corporate sector and that, "in line with the commitments taken by the government and with the austerity measures already in place within the administration", the government would cut 80 managerial and 450 directorial positions across its corporate groups.
