NATO's Consultation, Command and Control Agency (NC3A) signed a treaty with the Estonian Ministry of Defence on 11 May that will give the country's military authorities direct access to the alliance's information and communications systems.rnThe co-operation agreement also covers Estonia's use of alliance intelligence and surveillance software systems, strengthening the Baltic state's intelligence-gathering capabilities. NC3A Director Georges D'hollander met with EstonianrnDefence Minister Jaak Aaviksoo to discuss future agency and national plans and proposals. "To make decisions on the modern battlefield, our defence must encompass intelligence and communications capabilities to transfer necessary information to military decision makers," Aaviksoo said.
