The future of US-brokered peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) has been called into question amid growing tension between the sides stirred by a botched Israel Navy (IN) operation off the coast of the Gaza Strip.rnUS mediator Senator George Mitchell was expected back in Israel in early June for meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and PA President Mahmoud Abbas with the declared goal of saving the indirect proximity peace talks and getting both sides to sit down for direct negotiations. However, that might be harder than he expected.
