Israel is facing the prospect of losing many of the lions of its defence and intelligence hierarchy before the end of the year in what could be an indication that there are no immediate plans to attack Iran's nuclear facilities.rnWhile many of the officials stepping down have been in their posts for an extended period of time, the message the mass exodus is sending domestically is also telling: that criticism among the top military hierarchy of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Ehud Barak has reached a crescendo at a critical and sensitive time for Israel as it seeks to repair relationships with once-close allies, while maintaining a defensive posture amid the prospect of conflict on multiple fronts.
