The US Marine Corps (USMC) has taken delivery of the first Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) prototypes from General Dynamics Land Systems. Developed to replace the assault amphibious vehicle (AAV7A1) originally procured in 1972, the EFV will be the primary means of tactical mobility for the marine rifle squad during the conduct of amphibious operations ashore.
