1. All revenue groups have reported increased competition in the past 12 months. This correlates with the view expressed elsewhere in this study of the challenge of securing a share of increasingly scarce financial resources (directly at prime contractor level and ultimately, through the supply chain).rn2. The view that competition will intensify further was held by the majority of respondents.rn3. Fully 30 per cent of respondents cite budgets as the reason for increased competition, while 12 per cent highlighted the dearth of opportunities. The challenge of differentiating product offerings in crowded and in some cases, increasingly commoditised markets is also notable (nine per cent noted the influence of price/value and costs).
