Negotiations between the US government and Lockheed Martin to procure 32 more F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) aircraft are nearly complete, according to a senior Lockheed Martin executive.rnTom Burbage, the executive vice-president for the programme at Lockheed Martin, said on 13 September that the company is "very close" to reaching a deal on the fourth batch of low-rate initial production (LRIP 4) aircraft.
