A consortium led by Singapore Technologies Aerospace (ST Aerospace) has been awarded a contract to supply 12 Alenia Aermacchi M-346 aircraft and a Boeing training system to meet the Republic of Singapore Air Force's (RSAF's) Advanced Jet Trainer (AJT) requirement, it was announced on 28 September.rnThe contract was awarded by the Singapore Ministry of Defence and is valued at SGD543 million (USD411 million). The M-346 aircraft and ground-based training system will be based at the RSAF's fighter pilot training facilities at the Cazaux airbase in southern France, and are expected to be delivered from 2012.
