Satellite imagery acquired from DigitalGlobe on 27 October confirms reports of recent activity at the site of North Korea's 2009 nuclear weapons test.rnThe site is near the town of Kilju in the northeast of the Korean peninsula. Jane's can confirm that there is renewed activity at both the operations base and the entrance to the underground test site.rnA nuclear test would undermine attempts to defrost relations between North Korea, South Korea and the US as Kim Jong-il manages a transition of power to his son, Kim Jong-un. The 27-year-old four-star general stood alongside his father at a massive military parade celebrating the 65 th anniversary of the founding of the North Korean Workers' Party on 10 October.
