Anew Anglo-French effort to develop Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) unmanned air-craft systems (UASs) has already attracted the interest of a number of European companies, including BAE Systems, Dassault Aviation and EADS.rnThe programme forms part of a series of accords signed between the two countries during a visit to London on 2 November by French President Nicolas Sarkozy. A competitive assessment phase will begin in 2011 "with a view to new equipment delivery between 2015 and 2020", according to the deal.rnWithin hours of the landmark agreement, BAE Systems of the UK and Dassault Aviation of France signalled that they wanted to cooperate on the project.
