The Israel Defence Force (IDF) has completed the evaluation phase of EIbit Systems' Skylark II unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which might become the reconnaissance drone for Israeli infantry and armoured brigades.rnThe Skylark II was chosen after the Israeli Ministry of Defence (MoD) rejected a request from Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to delay the closure of the tender in September so it could submit a rival offer involving its new Panther tiltrotor UAV.rnThe Skylark II is launched from the field on a catapult, lands with a parachute and is designed for data collection, observation and target acquisition missions at ranges of about 60 km.
