OPK Oboronprom, the Russian holding company behind Russian rotary-wing assets including Kazan Helicopter Plant and Ulan Ude Aircraft, is to delay the stock market flotation of its helicopter manufacturing group by at least another year, Jane's has learned. On 14 January the company revealed to Jane's that the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of its 100 per cent subsidiary, Helicopters of Russia, would happen "no sooner than 2010-11". In 2008 Oboronprom indicated that the company would go to market in late 2009 or early 2010: around the same time as Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC). Prior to this in 2006, Oboronprom's then chief executive, Denis Manturov, said that an IPO may take place, but no earlier than 2008. He added: "For our state-owned company it is more important that the procurement of capital would correspond to the state's interests."
