United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), the umbrella group that represents Russia's aerospace companies, has said it is in negotiations to bring Ukraine's Antonov Design Bureau into the organisation as a first step towards the integration of the two countries' aviation industry.rnUAC vice-president for transport aviation Victor Livanov, who is also director general of aircraft manufacturer llyushin, said a successful move would maximise the capabilities of both countries.rn"We would like very much the Ukrainian aviation industry - the Antonov Design Bureau in the first place -to become part of the UAC," he said. "In this case, thernUkrainian industry's capability would be utilised more fully, including in Russia. We are negotiating with the Ukrainian party on this subject."
