The US Government Accountability Office (GAO) on 17 February rejected protests filed by Northrop Grumman and Textron against the award of technology development contracts for the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) programme.rnIn November 2008 Northrop Grumman and partner Oshkosh filed a protest that resulted in a stop-work order for the JLTV effort after three development contracts were awarded the previous month to three teams: BAE Systems; a joint venture between General Dynamics andrnAM General; and Lockheed Martin. Northrop Grumman believed the selection process was flawed due to requirement changes and arbitrary maturity ratings.rnThat protest was followed by another from Textron and partner Boeing that faulted the process'srnscoring methodologies and standards for evaluating system maturity. Now that those protests have been denied, the programme can move forward with a 27-month technology development phase during which the companies will build and test equipment for the JLTV.
