Boeing says it successfully demonstrated simultaneous command and control of three ScanEagle unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Wedgetail 737 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft on 16 March. The flight demonstration, which took place over Washington State, was a significant milestone because it showed that unmanned aerial system (UAS) control could be integrated into real-world battle management software. This meansrnUS forces will be less dependent on dedicated ground stations to operate the unmanned aircraft since they have an aircraft that can play a primary role in accomplishing this mission.
