The Russian military has received into service its first Mil Mi-28N 'Havoc' attack helicopters, Russian state media announced on 21 April.rnAccording to Ria Novosti, the first six Mi-28N helicopters (the type is dubbed the Night Hunter- Nochnoy Okhotnik- by the Russian military) have entered service with the North Caucasus Military DistrictrnThe reports did not disclose any unit designation but Jane's believes that these first Mi-28NS may be deployed with the 55th Independent Combat Helicopter Regimentrnat Korenovsk. This unit currently operates Mi-8 'Hip' transport and Mi-24 'Hind' assault helicopters.rnThe Mi-28N, which is manufactured by Rostvertol, has been designed as a night and all-weather-capable anti-armour and anti-personnel attack platform.
