The Thales board of directors has appointed Nexter chief Luc Vigneron as its new chairman and chief executive officer (CEO), replacing Denis Ranque.rnJane's reported on 18 May that Vigneron, head of French land armaments company Nexter, was set to be named chairman and CEO of Thales after winning strong support from the French government, and despite media reports that some members of the Thales' board had voiced misgivings over his candidacy.
