The US Department of Defense (DoD) and US Army representatives have revealed a scheme to restructure the Future Combat Systems (FCS) programme following an April announcement that the manned ground vehicle portion would be cancelled.rnLieutenant General Ross Thompson, military deputy to the army's acquisition executive, informed Congress on 21 May that FCS would "devolve" into three major programmes: the ground combat vehicle; spin-outs of FCS equipment; and incremental network and software efforts.
