Orders for Zimbabwe Army troops to withdraw from diamond fields in the country's east following allegations of widespread human rights abuses are being ignored with the tacit approval of the army's commanders, sources have told Jane's.rnThe generals controlling the army's Joint Operations Centre have decided not to obey a government instruction made public on 6 July for a phased withdrawal from the Chiadzwa diamond fields, the sources said, opting to pass the instruction on to the local commander but hinting that he can ignore it.
