摘要

The hybrid UN-African Union force in Sudan's Darfur region (UNAMID) has received some badly needed reinforcements of police and military personnel amid what appears to be a revising of the US policy towards resolving the six-year-old crisis.rnUganda has sent 114 police officers to replace a team that had spent 12 months as part of the 13,000-strong mission. Meanwhile, a first unit of 134 troops from Burkina Faso have arrived, with another 133 scheduled to land in South Darfur within days.rnA total of 800 soldiers from the West African nation are expected to join the ranks of UNA-MID, alongside new units from Ethiopia, Tanzania and Egypt, according to a statement released by the UN's media centre.
