Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is facing opprobrium from both parliament and senior military officials over his choices for key security and defence posts, as the backlash from across the political spectrum continues following the Islamic republic's disputed June elections.rnIranian media reported that the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has fiercely opposed the choices for both defence and interior minister. Ahmadinejad had initially sought to swap the current occupants in the two posts, but that plan may have to be scrapped in favour of one that placates the military hierarchy, according to local news station Asre Iran.
