摘要

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has been forced to reschedule and curtail fighter pilot training as a result of delays in the delivery of BAE Systems Hawk Mk 132 advanced jet trainers (AJTs) being assembled locally by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).rnIAF sources said that as of 20 August HAL had delivered just three Hawks built under licence at its facility at Bangalore, while another two were undergoing test flights.rnThe IAF ordered 66 Hawks in 2004 for USD1.1 billion, with 42 of them to be built locally by HAL. The company originally committed to supplying 15 aircraft by March 2009.
