North Korea announced it has completed the reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel rods to extract weapons-grade plutonium in an attempt to convince the US to engage into bilateral talks, analysts have told Jane's.rnOn 3 November a government statement said it had "successfully completed the reprocessing of 8,000 spent fuel rods by the end of August" at its nuclear facility at Yongbyon, 90 km north of Pyongyang.
