UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has warned that the UN peacekeeping mission in Eritrea is on the verge of collapsing due to a critical shortage of fuel supplies. Expressing "deep concern" about the decision of the Eritrean government to cut off diesel fuel supplies to the UN Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE), he said that if the shortage continues he will be forced to move the mission out of Eritrea.
