Russia may retarget some of its missiles at the ballistic missile defence (BMD) sites that the United States is planning to deploy in Central Europe, President Vladimir Putin said during his final annual news conference on 14 February. "Our experts believe the system threatens our national security," he said. "If it appears, we will be forced to respond appropriately - we will have to retarget part of our systems against those missiles."
