The Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN) is seeking to build up to three new Aegis-equipped KDX-Ⅲ destroyers, doubling the size of its KDX-Ⅲ fleet. The RoKN has yet to file an official request for the additional destroyers with the Joint Chiefs of Staff but it has now reported the plan to the National Assembly Defence Committee, Jane's has learned.
