The Israel Defence Force (IDF) will begin equipping its infantry units with the new Namer (Tiger) heavy infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) in June, it emerged as the first example was rolled out on 2 March. The Namer is planned to become Israel's main infantry platform and the country is seeking industrial partners in the United States so that it can access international funding for the programme, says an IDF source.
