Supacat displayed its latest HMT Extenda (E) cross-country vehicle, which has now been ordered by three undisclosed countries, at Eurosatory for the first time. Extenda (E) is reconfigurable from the standard 4×4 version to the enhanced capability 6×6 model in a matter of hours using standard tools. The baseline 4×4 version has a payload of 3 tonnes and carries five people, but with the addition of a bolt-on rear module and axle it becomes a 6 x 6 vehicle. This has a minimum payload of 4.5 tonnes. Extenda (E) is a further development of the Jackal that is already in quantity production forthe British Army as the replacementforthe weapon-mounted installation kit (WMIK) Land Rover vehicles. An initial order for 130 Jackal mobility WMIKs (MWMIKs) was placed in 2007 with Supacat as the design authority and production undertaken by Babcock Marine Engineering at Devonport.
