ITT has indicated that it is continuing to look for acquisition targets in the wake of its USD1.7 billion purchase of defence technology group EDO, although the value of any activity is unlikely to be on the same scale. The United States group completed the purchase of EDO on 20 December 2007: a deal that catapulted the company into the top 10 of US Department of Defense contractors with a number eight ranking (up from around 13th the previous year). The deal added around USD1 billion to group revenues and gave ITT a significant role in US programmes such as the Joint Strike Fighter, the US Navy Littoral Combat ship and the US Coast Guard Deepwater programme. Speaking to Jane's at Eurosatory in Paris on 16 June, ITT executives suggested that the group still had an eye on further non-organic growth.
