South Korea's Defence Acquisition Programme Administration (DAPA) has re-issued a tender to procure land-attack air-launched cruise missiles after only one company - Taurus Systems - submitted a bid to supply the weapons by the early October deadline, a DAPA source told Jane's on 8 October. The tender calls for the acquisition of up to 177 missiles, which will be fitted onto the additional Boeing F-15K fighters ordered by the Republic of Korea Air Force (RoKAF) in April 2008. The deal is worth around KRW170 billion (USD121 million). The DAPA guidelines state that tenders to procure military equipment would be re-issued should only one vendor express interest.
