Saab, Simrad join forces on Optronics Saab and Norway's Simrad Optronics haw created a joint venture with to take advantage of "stronger Nordic defence co-operation in the future" as well as the opportunities created should Oslo select Saab's Gripen to meet its Future Combat Aircraft (FCA) requirement. Focusing on high-tech Optronics, Vingtech Saab AS will be 51 per cent owned by Simrad with the remainder held by Saab, the companies said on 28 October.
