Hampson Industries saw profit more than double during the first six months of the year: a result attributed to its "push into high-growth, high-margin aerospace composites and tooling sectors". The UK defence and aerospace precision engineering group also saw sales break the GBP110 million (USD167 million) barrier during the half year to 30 September, while analysts are looking towards full-year sales In the range of GBP220 million to GBP250 million. Half-year pre-tax profits reached GBP16.1 million:up from GBP7.1 million last year. The group- which has exposure to major defence programmes such as the Lockheed Martin-led Joint Strike Fighter - has experienced strong growth on the back of acquisitions, having pushed revenues from GBP500,000 six years ago to GBP22.5 million last year.
