Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) could acquire a five per cent stake in pan-European group EADS from Vnesh-torgbank (VTB), RIA Novosti reported on 26 September. According to the state-owned news agency, Russia's Industry and Energy Minister, Victor Khristenko, said: "I am not ruling out that UAC could take ownership of this stake. Whether the shares will be transferred or sold is a financial issue, but this will not be a gift from the bank, it can only be a financial transaction."
