United States private equity firm the Blackstone Group has announced it will invest USD65 million in the Indian precision engineering company MTAR Technologies. The firm said on 7 November that the transaction would involve a mixture of primary and secondary equity funding. MTAR, which works in the Indian defence, space and nuclear industry with organisations such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited and the Indian Space Research Organisation, will continue to be led by the existing management team and the original founders: P Ravindra Reddy, Satyanarayana Reddy and P Jayaprakash Reddy.
