Romania's armed forces have proven their country's credentials as a dependable NATO ally. As Peter Felstead reports, however, that may have come at a price. Officially becoming a fully fledged NATO nation on 29 March 2004, Romania has since that point been keen to demonstrate that, as a member of the alliance, it is a provider - as well as a consumer - of security.
