The UK government will have the power to force foreign companies holding stakes as small as 3 per cent in QinetiQ to divest "in the interests of national security", JDW has learned. UK Secretary of State for Defence John Reid officially confirmed earlier in January the flotation of the partly state-owned defence technology company on the London Stock Exchange, with the initial public offering (IPO) set for February 2006.
