Advanced Technologies and Engineering (ATE) delivered the first Vulture unmanned aerial vehicle system to the South African Army on 23 March. The Vulture is the Unmanned Aerial Observation System (UAOS) component of the army's new AS-2000 Artillery Target Engagement System. Developed by African Defence Systems, the AS-2000 entered service recently. The Vulture will provide target acquisition, fall-of-shot detection and fire correction for the 155 mm G-5 and G-6 towed and self-propelled gun systems.
